There are 3 farms in this area with over 150 hectares of citrus plantations. Account for an important part of the early satsumas, as well as the as the later mandarins. This area is characterized for its covered skies with high humidity yiedlding high crop.
Besides La Calera main farms, 7 other citrus farms host over 250 hectares under production in this valley, with clementines, satsumas and minneolas, New varieties are being introduced in this area like late mandarins, lates oranges and grapefruit.
Located in the area of Lanchas, 2 farms produce mainly minneolas for the export market. One of these farms also hosts Pomegranates and Quebranta grapes ( for producing Pisco, Peru’s national liquor).
