We have the largest biogas plant in Peru which produces 4 thousand cubic meters of biogas per day. Starting from the Gallinaza (pultry) as organic matter, through a process of anaerobic fermentation, the methane gas is produced and used to cover part of the energetic demand of the farm.
Committed to the environment and the management of solid waste, we have a cardboard plant in which we use 4 tons of newspaper per day, to produce the cardboard trays where eggs are packed and sold in supermarkets (15 and 6 unit presentation).
In La Calera we produce 280 tons of guano per day which is also used as input for the production of biogas. In addition, the guano goes through a process to get our Terrasur Fertilizer.
Terrasur is a product developed by La Calera to provide the agricultural sector high quality natural guano due to its concentrations of phosphorus and potassium. Markets are provided with guano extracted directly from our farms that is spread and dried in the sun with periodic turning processes to give consistency to the products.
Our experience in the poultry and agriculture is over 43 years and not only gives support to the permanent product supply, but also the high efficiency obtained by our fields and acceptance of our products in the demanding international markets.
It is a great concern of the La Calera Reforestation Company to improve gradually the environment and restore wildlife. For this reason it has been working on the reforestation of different areas.
For example, Royal Palms were planted in the Plaza de Armas Larán and in the San Luis Av. (both in Chincha Peru).
Also, in many of the streets of Larán, there are laurels and acalifas trees planted as a result of the Project “Campo de los Niños Garden Centre”.
